Fun Weekend in Asheville

Asheville is a great “drive to location” from so many places in the southeast.  We’ve been the sole proprietors At Cumberland Falls Bed and Breakfast Inn since 1999 and our regional traffic is a large percentage of our guest list.  Knoxville, Atlanta, Nashville, Savannah, Charleston, Columbia to just name the heavy hitters.  We really enjoy that for two reasons.  One:  Our guests really don’t have to make long range plans, spontaneity can rule the day and frequency of visitation can be enhanced creating real friendships with guests.  Two:  Asheville has so much to offer in the area of natural resources and things to do that is is way more than a “one trick pony.”   Hiking, biking, canoeing, rock climbing and more.Trees, stream in forest setting

 Not an outdoor enthusiast, no worries.  There are art galleries, antiquing opportunities, boutique shopping, breweries, distilleries and dining that is becoming notable and much touted in our area.  We are a mecca for innovative, farm to table cuisine from nearly every ethnicity imaginable. 

Biltmore Estate boasts over 250 rooms and over 8,000 acres of property hosting over one million visitors each year not to include the private events hosted on the property.  For our visiting guests, both new and returning, the gardens never cease to amaze, the dining continues to allure and the the opportunities for enjoying the out of doors are growing every year from the horse stables to the various outdoor events located throughout the estates. Hiking, dining, the house tour, horse carriage rides, retailing and the winery are just a few of the high points.   

If hiking is your passion, we too are completely enamored of the opportunities here to “see for miles.”  We’ve done many of these hikes and can give you the real live of the experience.  For the price of a pair of decent tennis shoes to   From a trip to Max Patch Bald to Crabapple Falls, Dupont Forest and Black Balsam Knob, Craggy Garden Pinnacle, Pulliam Creek Trail AKA Green River Narrow Trail the sites you can see are quite simply; priceless.

If music warms your heart in all the right places you will be toasty here in Asheville.  From Two bronze fiddler sculptures.the cool vibe of the Orange Peel Social Aid and Pleasure Club, to the very hip and edgy feel of Mothlight and nicely fitted in between Isis Music Hall coupled with the melodies of buskers floating through the romantic streets Asheville claims as her own, you will be sated. 

We’d like to make this weekend which you really should spend in Asheville your very best ever.  A weekend is a precious thing.  Time away can just be spent or it can be savored like the treasure it is.  We look forward to helping you do just that.
