A BOUTIQUE INN & SPA
Tucked privately on a knoll, in an Asheville neighborhood fringed by stately trees, Cumberland Falls Bed & Breakfast welcomes everyone who wants to explore this amazing city and then relax on our porch or in the gardens. A slate path, edged by green ferns, serves as escort to the front door. The pineapple fountain, an age-old sign of hospitality, ushers you to the front porch~ letting you know you’re home. We seek to offer the best of hospitality to Everyone! Our historic, neighbourhood setting offers each guest convenient access to Asheville NC’s most sought-after areas – A 15-minute walk to downtown, 3 miles to Biltmore Estate and the Blue Ridge Parkway- an easy 15 minutes.
Our turn-of-the-century house, on ¾ acre of beautifully tended gardens, has only six guest rooms. We are able to offer our guests the privacy that inspires romantic getaways and enhances celebrations of any kind. Our property specializes in casual elegance with each guest room offering its own special magic.
Our gardens are exceptional, encouraging relaxation and providing peace. Bright, colorful perennials and evergreens dot the landscape-Enjoy them and help us feed the Koi fish. The frequent, enthusiastic visits by our guests to the pond have given these fish a personality of their own. They are now attention seeking quickly making the swim to the side of the pond just for your personal attention.
Breakfast at the inn has developed quite a reputation among our guests both new and those returning. Setting an alarm clock is usually not required, as we find the fresh aroma of hot muffins or the tangy familiarity of bacon does the trick nicely. Two courses all freshly made, our breakfast begins your bright new morning perfectly.
We have owned our inn for only a year, but it feels like Asheville has always been our home. We love this city and whether you want to explore Biltmore, hike, antique, gallery hop or zip line over the trees, we are here to help you do as much or as little as you like. Our city has firmly secured its place as a destination in the southeast and has become the inspiration for an array of published articles showcasing its natural beauty, quality of life, fine craft brews, art and music. It is definitely a foodie destination, too. There is so much to do in this little mountain town, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Angela and David Harrell
We moved to Asheville 3 years ago and purchased Cumberland Falls B&B and we believe it was the best thing we have done so far. Asheville is such a diverse and vibrant city with so much to do and so many kind people. Owning the inn and meeting people from all over the world has been such a wonderful experience. We count our blessings every day.
Angela is originally from Park City, Utah and David is a born and raised southern Californian. We both lived in San Diego for past 25 years before moving to North Carolina. It was Angela’s yearning for the mountains and four seasons that put Asheville in our top 3. We couldn’t go back to Utah – the winters there would have sent David running back to California…the mild Asheville winters are perfect and he hasn’t had to shovel snow yet.
David has spent these last three years between the inn and the North Carolina Arboretum. David has attended over 240 hours of classes at the arboretum to become a Certified Blue Ridge Parkway and Western North Carolina Naturalist. We just opened Hike Bike Kayak Asheville and can’t wait to take people on guided hiking, kayaking and Parkway trips.
Thank you so much for your help in making this weekend so special. The room was wonderful, breakfast, divine and your hospitality cannot be matched.
JEAN & BEN
This house and gardens were so amazing that any future BnB will have a very hard time trying to compare. The hidden nooks and flower gardens were such a treat that we didn't want to leave the property to visit the town. Angela and David made our stay absolutely amazing. They were accommodating to my food allergies and our early check out needs. We will certainly be going back.
This lovely b & b is in a quiet neighbourhood within walking distance of the town. Extremely comfortable room and all in all a charming old colonial house with a beautiful garden. The innkeepers are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble if you need help- we did! Breakfasts were absolutely fabulous, very tasty, beautifully cooked and presented. We can’t thank Angela and David enough for giving us such a wonderful and welcoming stay.
