The clever restaurateurs in Asheville have banded together and developed something enjoyable and enlivening for us to do as we soldier through the gray winter month of January-Asheville Restaurant Week.
This year, the  dates are Tuesday January 21-Monday, January 27. Sometimes these events fall a bit flat as the restaurants that may be “out of budget” do not participate.  That is not that case in Asheville.  The best of the best are up for grabs so here is your chance to seize this opportunity to be royal.

Anyone familiar at all with our city is aware of the fundamental commitment to fresh, locally sourced product. With the strength of our over 20 regional tailgate markets coupled with a real commitment to locally sourced food. both have  contributed significantly to the burgeoning interest in Asheville’s food scene. Our chefs have become known for creativity, farm to table and completely out of the box culinary delights.  Chains dining is the exception not the rule here as 250 independent restaurants jockey to earn their place in the hierarchy of the notables.

Gary and I have enjoyed a front row seat to this controlled but exciting endeavor during our 15 year tenure as bed and breakfast owners here.  For those following the inn’s blog,  I have submitted much information recently on many of the newest restaurant openings here.  There is such a gastronomic explosion that I felt it might be helpful to our guests in trying to find just the right place for a special night out.   At this point in the developing eating scene in our little hamlet, without a scorecard, it can prove daunting to keep up with even for those of us who live here.

To enjoy Asheville Restaurant Week to the fullest reservations at participating restaurants are recommended. We are urging our guests to do this.  Contingent upon the restaurants chosen, the pricing will range from $15-$30 for the prix fixe menu. Brunch-Lunch-Dinner options available.  Reservations, for those participating establishments accepting them, are to be made at the restaurant chosen.  Please feel free to check out your options for this week of culinary explorations at www.AshevilleRestaurantWeek.com.  New choices are being added every week and this link provides all the information you need to view menus, explore, choose and enjoy!
