Robert Harling’s Steel Magnolias will take to the stage at our community theater; Asheville Community Theatre August 2-18, 2013. There are both matinees and evening performances as well.
Ashevillians are passionate about their support of local art in general and local theatre proves no exception as is evidenced by the six decades of continual performances Asheville Community Theatre has brilliantly delivered to our area.
In speaking with guests they often share that their local area does not have a community theatre…Some also share that they have a community theatre but that the performances rendered by the players are so amateur in nature that support of locals wanes until the theatre dies from lack of citizen involvement both as players and also as patrons.
Asheville Community Theatre breaths vibrantly throughout our community of artists and summertime will close with a production of one of the most beloved of stories-Steel Magnolias. The authors younger sister was the catalyst for the birth this story of love, loss, sacrifice and laughter. If you’ve ever been a Mom, a friend or endured the loss of someone fundamental to your life, your soul will find resonance in this piece. These women will make you laugh, will make you cry, will make you cheer and will make you think. Not a bad way to spend an evening.
Our inn is minutes from downtown, we are happy to help you find the best cuisine in the area before the show. Sounds like night in the making and you may see your innkeepers there as well. I promise, we are not following you!
