Herb are a hot property in our section of the country and the fascination with the study of herbs and their medicinal properties dates back to the beginning of civilization.
Their use is known to be documented in application and results found in ancient writings by the healers of each generation. Our area is home to several schools of Herbology. Interest in this field of study is increasing as more and more people look to ancillary means of healing and health than that available in typical western medicine. Our biodiversity and hence, availability of these plants lends itself to a sustained interest and facilitates the ongoing study of this ancient science.
Herbs can function in culinary, medicinal, fragrance and topical skin healing. Our area is dedicated to culinary excellence and diversity and our chefs seek to shop local so on Friday May 3-Sunday May 5, 2013 they’ll be headed to the Western North Carolina Farmer’s Market.
Music, treats, natural, hand made soaps, herbs for all purposes, plants, vegetables, gifts and more will be available. If herbs, their variant usage, growth, care and history of use sound like something you might like to know more about head on over to the Farmer’s Market. The vendors are anxious to help you learn and supply you with just the right herbs for your particular needs. So whether you’re cooking some fine culinary feast you just know will be better with fresh herbs, want to make some soap or other fragrance or just want books to help you learn more….It’s the place to be. Sunshine and fine plants. It can’t be beat.
