We thought you might enjoy a look at the landscape of The Hunger Games from your Asheville Bed and Breakfast. We join in the excitement felt in our area as we approach the March 23, 2012 premier of The Hunger Games.  A few days from now, on Feb 6, our blog post discusses the back story of the protagonist in the movie.

Katniss Everdeen was a product of Appalachia.  The topography around Asheville, sharing the characteristics of that area, was chosen for filming.  It occurred to me that you all might like to see a photo depicting the kind of landscape she would have seen during her “coming of age” time. It conveys a beauty all its own-both rugged and serene and proved the honing stone by which Katniss Everdeen was preparing for her future when, in her attempts to save her sister from the Lottery, she volunteers herself for the games.
